This video is a simple explanation about the Muscle contraction. Note: I did not used complex terminology to avoid confusion in understanding this concept. I think this video gives u an idea how contraction takes place. Thankyou.. Muscle contraction process. 1) Signal from Brain to Neuromuscular junction.( Presynapstic nerve ending) through motor neuron. 2) Cause release of neurotransmitter in presynapstic nerve ending like ACH.. 3) These neurotransmitters enters into synaptic cleft ( Gap between presynapstic and postsynaptic nerve endings). 4) Entry of ACH in synaptic cleft cause action potential.This cause release of Ca++ ions into the postsynaptic nerve endings ( Muscle cell/ sarcoplasma) through receptors. 5) These influxed Ca++ reaches the actin filament and gets attached to troponin ( regulatory protein of actin which is present at active site) when there concentration increased in the post synapse. 6) This cause Ca++ And troponin complex.After complex formation this complex move away from the active sites hence they are exposed to myosin heads. 7) Cross brigde formation: When Actin active sites are exposed to myosin.It utilises energy generated from ATP hydrolysis and attaches to actin called cross brigde. 8) Sliding of Actin over Myosin: This formed cross ridge i.e, Myosin pushes Actin towards it centre region called A- zone. A- zone nothing but zone which is present exactly at centre of myosin which is free. Sarcomere: Zone between two alternate Z- lines ( Z- like lines which holds two actin filaments left and right). 9) This sliding cause compression of actin filaments towards myosin hence muscle comes close and contration takes place. 10) This contraction is dependent on amount of Ca++ ions influx which are released in response to action potential.
