THE NARROW GATE | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (August 24, 2025) with Sign Language Today is the Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time; and in the gospel reading, someone asked Jesus: “Lord, will only a few people be saved?” The answer, brothers and sisters, and the good news is that God opens the gate of salvation to all. The Lord himself says “people will come from the east and the west and from the north and south.” However, there will also be those who will be “cast out.” The master of the house calls them evil doers. By doing evil someone effectively refuses to enter the open door. Evil closes the door opened by God. Let us single mindedly choose good over evil. This requires discipline taking the narrow gate. Though narrow, it is open to all. Let us choose to enter it.
