Philippines LIVE: Senate Blue Ribbon Committee Resumes Hearing on Flood Control Projects Huge Scandal Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo “Ping” Lacson returns as chair as the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee resumes its probe into alleged anomalous flood control projects today, November 14, 2025. MANILA, Philippines – The Senate blue ribbon committee resumes its investigation into anomalous flood control projects on Friday, November 14, as Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson returns as its chairman. Lacson earlier said a “very important” witness will be attending the hearing, where the witness is expected to link key players in the supposed corruption scheme. Lacson also said he invited 17 congressmen, including the previous House speaker, Leyte 1st District Representative Martin Romualdez, and Benguet Representative Eric Yap, to the hearing. The Senate president pro tempore initially planned to extend a Zoom invite to former Ako Bicol party-list representative Zaldy Co, but decided against it since the hearing may provide him a platform to say whatever he wanted “without any accountability for at least possible contempt citation.” Meanwhile, Lacson also refuted Sen. Imee Marcos’ claim that witnesses will recant their testimonies in the next hearing and that Co was Lacson’s alleged VIP witness. “More than Sen. Imee’s crystal ball, my bigger concern is how to recover my normal voice in time for tomorrow’s BRC hearing or this afternoon’s budget plenary debates which I have intended to interpellate,” Lacson said, referring to this sore throat. #philippines #Blueribbon #philippinesSenate #marcosjr #manila #cnbctv18 #livenews #philippines #Blueribbon #philippinesSenate #marcosjr #manila The Philippines Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, chaired by Senator Rodante Marcoleta, holds a heated hearing into alleged corruption in government-funded flood control projects.
