James Sunderland (Luke Roberts) arrives in Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his wife Mary (Salóme Gunnarsdóttir), who died three years earlier from a degenerative disease. While exploring the abandoned town, he meets Angela Orosco, a 19-year-old runaway searching for her mother; overweight and erratic Eddie Dombrowski; and Laura, an eight-year-old girl who befriended Mary while they were in hospital together, and believes James treated Mary poorly.
