GOSPEL OF THE DAY | SATURDAY, July 19, 2025 | Jesus is in danger! ๐Ÿ”” Daily Liturgy: 15th Week of Ordinary Time | Saturday Today, the Word of God invites us to remember the liberation of Israel and the mission of Jesus as the chosen Servant, filled with the Spirit who brings justice and hope to all nations. The First Reading (Exodus 12:37-42) recounts the Israelites' departure from Egypt, marked by the night of vigil that is to be celebrated for generations, a symbol of God's salvation and faithfulness. ๐Ÿ“– Readings and Gospel of the Day: ๐Ÿ”น First Reading: Exodus 12:37-42 The Israelites leave Egypt in a huge crowd, unable to wait for the dough to rise, demonstrating the urgency of the liberation God has granted them. This departure is a foundational moment that will be remembered forever as a sign of God's power and mercy. ๐Ÿ”น Responsorial Psalm: 135(136) "His loving-kindness endures forever." We thank the Lord for his goodness and faithfulness, which are manifested in the deliverance of his people, the defeat of enemies, and his constant, unfailing protection. ๐Ÿ”น Gospel of Matthew 12:14-21 The Pharisees plot to kill Jesus, but he withdraws and continues healing all who follow him. Jesus is presented as the Servant prophesied by Isaiah, who with meekness and justice will bring hope to the nations, without violence or outcry, caring for the weakest. ๐Ÿ’ก Reflection on Today's Gospel: Jesus is in danger! This text shows us the hardness of the human heart in the face of goodness, evidenced in the plot to kill Jesus. However, He does not respond with violence, but with humility and compassion, withdrawing to fulfill the Father's will. The healing He offers is universal and profound, restoring both body and spirit. His request for silence is not out of fear, but out of prudence, to fulfill God's plan at the right time. The image of Isaiah's Servant reveals the tenderness and justice of Jesus, who does not break the bruised reed or extinguish the smoldering wick, but rather lifts and rekindles hope in all. In Him, the nations find their true hope. ๐ŸŒŸ What you will learn: โœ” The importance of trusting in God's faithfulness in liberation. โœ” Jesus' missionary style: meekness, justice, and compassion. โœ” The hope that Jesus offers to all humanity. ๐Ÿ™ May this reflection help us respond generously to Christ's call, proclaiming His love with our lives and witness. ๐Ÿ”” Subscribe to the channel and activate notifications to receive daily reflections and delve deeper into God's message. ๐Ÿ“Œ Share this teaching and help others strengthen their faith and trust in the Lord! ๐Ÿ™ May the Peace of Christ and the love of Mary illuminate your day!
