Let me find solace in your provision and be content with the abundant blessings you bestow upon me each day. I pray for your protective embrace over myself and my loved ones, shielding us from harm. As we embark on this journey of a new day, envelop us with your divine shield, safeguarding us from harm and danger. Let your angels encircle us, ensuring safety with every step we take. Lord, make me an instrument of your love, spreading kindness and compassion wherever I go. May your presence be a constant companion, guiding and comforting me throughout this day. Grant me a heart brimming with gratitude, opening my eyes to the countless blessings surrounding me, so that I may always be thankful for your goodness and provision. Strengthen my faith, and teach me to lean on you in all circumstances. Thank you, Father, for this new day and the opportunities it presents. May your grace overflow in my life, leading me to a place of contentment and trust in your sovereign control. "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'" (Isaiah 30:21) To you, Father, I give all the praise, honor, and glory. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen. Many of us are familiar with the hymn "Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior," with its heartfelt plea: "Hear my humble cry; while on others Thou art calling, do not pass me by." Yet, the story behind this hymn is often less known. It was penned by a remarkable woman named Francis Jane Crosby, or as she's affectionately known, Fanny Crosby. Understanding her background and personal journey adds depth to the meaning behind these lyrics. Fanny Crosby entered this world on March 24th, 1820, but tragedy found her early. At just six weeks old, she suffered an eye infection that left her permanently blind due to mistreatment by a local physician. The sorrow didn't end there; soon after, her father passed away. Despite these immense challenges, Fanny remained steadfast in her faith and dedicated to her calling. Blindness, Fanny remarked in her later years, couldn't dim the sunlight of hope in her trusting soul. She found solace in leaving her cares to yesterday and believing that each new day would bring its own unique joys. Her resilience and unwavering trust in God's plan are evident in her words: "Blindness cannot keep the sunlight of hope from the trustful soul." So, when we sing "Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior," we're not just reciting simple lyrics; we're joining Fanny Crosby in her earnest prayer to God. It's a plea born from a life marked by challenges and anchored in unyielding faith. In 1868, Fanny Crosby was invited to speak at a state prison. During her visit, as she walked down a long aisle between cells, she heard a profound and sincere plea from one of the prisoners: "Good Lord, do not pass me by. Do not turn your back on me. Do not ignore, forget, or neglect me." This heartfelt cry deeply moved Fanny, lingering in her thoughts long after she left the prison. She later recalled, "I wrote the lines with the men's pleading wail still in my ears." That very night, Fanny penned all four verses of the hymn "Pass Me Not, O Gentle Savior," capturing the essence of that prisoner's desperate plea: "Hear my humble cry; while on others Thou art calling, do not pass me by." As she reflected on the man behind those prison bars, she imagined the depth of his desperation and need. ====================================== Trust In The Lord and He Will Give You Peace |Blessed Morning Prayer Start Your Day Daily Devotional #devotional #devotion #devotionalvideo #devotionalchannel #devotionalvideos #devotionalvideos #devotions #god #godmessage #dailydevotional #dailydevotion #dailydevotions #dailymotivation devotional , daily devotional , daily jesus devotional , christian motivation , verse of the day , our daily bread , daily devo , bible study , daily devotion , verse of the day today , daily devotional today , daily devotions , morning meditation , verse of the day bible , our daily bread devotional , bible study fellowship , bible in a year , daily devotional charles stanley , bible study with me , 365 bible reading plan , bible study resources , god message , grace for purpose , god helps , god
