pizza pockets, recipe in description.
CREDIT @_aussiefitness Today’s recipe was great — this is one of my favourites and honestly one of the easiest healthy recipes to make 🔥 1-1 coaching in bio!! 🍕 High Protein Pepperoni Pizza Hot Pockets Perfect easy high-protein snack or meal prep option — crispy on the outside, cheesy and packed with flavor inside! ⸻ 🔹 Ingredients (Makes 8 hot pockets) • 400 g High-Protein Flour (or plain flour/self-raising flour substitute) • 410 g Low-Fat, High-Protein Greek Yogurt • 1 tsp Garlic Powder • 1 tsp Salt • 1 tsp Oregano or Italian Herbs • 15 g Pizza Sauce / Marinara per pocket • 3–4 slices Turkey Pepperoni per pocket (or low-fat beef pepperoni) • 20 g Low-Fat, High-Protein Cheddar Cheese per pocket ⸻ 🔹 Instructions 1. Mix the dough: In a large bowl, combine the flour, Greek yogurt, garlic powder, salt, and oregano. Mix until it forms a dough — it should be slightly sticky but easy to knead. 2. Divide the dough: Split the dough evenly into 8 pieces. 3. Fill the pockets: • Flatten each piece into a small circle or oval. • Add a spoon of pizza sauce, 3–4 slices of turkey pepperoni, and 20 g cheese in the center. • Pinch and seal the top so it forms a little pocket or ball. 4. Cook: • Heat a non-stick pan over medium–high heat and lightly spray with oil. • Add a few pockets at a time and cover with a lid (this traps steam and melts the cheese). • Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. • Don’t skip the lid — it prevents burning while ensuring even cooking. 5. Serve: Enjoy hot with extra pizza sauce for dipping if desired. Store leftovers in the fridge or freezer, and reheat when ready to eat. ⸻ 🔹 Macros (Per Hot Pocket) Approximate (based on the high-protein flour and yogurt): • Calories: 270–290 kcal • Protein: 25 g • Carbs: 28 g • Fat: 6 g ⸻ 🔹 Make It Lower Calorie To shave off even more calories while keeping the protein high: • Use less cheese (10–15 g) or light mozzarella instead of cheddar. • Swap pepperoni for turkey breast or chicken slices. • Go light on pizza sauce or use a low-calorie tomato passata with herbs. • Brush with a low-calorie cooking spray instead of oiling the pan.
