Not just browse YouTube all day. But get on that piano or keyboard and work out those scales and riffs. The MIDI files allow you to learn the runs, chords, scales, licks, and literally every thing that you see in the video. I believe that the quickest and best way to grow as a musician is to study the works of others, practice them, and memorize them. The transcriptions provided via MIDI FILES for all of The transcriptions are usually 95% to 100% accurate and composed by Sean Wilson. In some cases, if there is a slight difference in the transcription it is because notes may have to be changed to fit the context of the chord or scale. I use my own ear to make the determination of the intended chord Most of the midi files provided in the links are between $5-$10… ——————————— How I create my videos ——————————— Step 1: I choose videos based on request. Musicians generally requests files that they really want MIDI files for. I consider the amount of time a video will take. Generally a week, (I’m not doing YouTube full time, I’ve got kids and multiple jobs) Step 2: I download the videos from youtube using keepvid.com or I just record the screen using a screen capture program. Step 3: I drag the video into Logic Pro X ($199) 90% of all of my time is spent in Logic. I play measure by measure WITH the video while recording the notes into Logic. I spend a lot of time editing the timing for accuracy… Step 4: I use chordie to play the notes and show the chords on the screen. Paid $30 for chordie.
