Helping the Community Heal

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) - An event at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Mobile Tuesday night aimed at helping those who have been impacted by the tragic murder of Hiawayi Robinson. Therapist Dr. Minnie Claiborne was the guest speaker. She says she felt the need to help after learning about Hiawayi's death. "When I saw the news and I saw just the emotions. People were all over the place, and I knew that I had some answers, and I just wanted to bring something to them," said Claiborne. Prichard Police Chaplain Patrick Munnerlyn says Claiborne counseled privately with Hiawayi grandmother, whose son now faces murder and sodomy charges, and the family of Tim Williams, who has been missing now for more than a week. "We want to hopefully bring some cheer to them, some comfort, put our arms around them and let them know they are going to get through it," said Claiborne. "We hope and pray that people can begin a healing process in Mobile County in lieu of Hiawayi Robinson's tragedy. It has torn the community in many different ways," said Munnerlyn. Munnerlyn says there will be a prayer vigil Wednesday night for Tim Williams at True Light Baptist Church in Prichard at 7 p.m.
