Immunology lecture 5 is about pathogens and the immune response. Specifically the life cycles of bacteria, the Gram-stain, life cycles of RNA and DNA viruses. Then we will talk about which parts of the viruses and bacteria bind to toll-like receptors. Lastly we will cover other innate immune mechanisms of killing pathogens including reactive oxygen species such as superoxide and hydrogen peroxide, and the complement system.
