Episode 8 - "When We Are in Need" - Ellie continues to care for Joel while he's still recovering as they slowly run out of rations. When Ellie goes out to hunt for food she comes across others, David and James, who are also desperate for the very same to feed their starving community. Ellie trades some of her catch for medicine and the two oblige. However, things take a turn when it's revealed that they are part of the same group that jumped Joel and Ellie at the University and they have been looking to get their revenge for their fallen comrades. They allow Ellie to return to Joel with the medicine so that they can track her back to their hiding place the next morning. Ellie manages to deliver the medicine to Joel before they close in and she leads them away. She doesn't get far before she is captured herself...Ellie learns a dark truth about this group and now must do everything she can to keep herself off the menu. Joel awakes just in time to fight off the men David left behind to find him and manages to force the location of their community out of one of them before making is way to save Ellie. The Last of Us is brought to us by Chernobyl writer Craig Mazin and the game's original creator Neil Druckmann. The series stars Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.
