The Song of Solomon
Second Individual Production Assignment by Molly Pelavin My original intention with this movie was to parody a story I read in the Bible. I took most of the dialogue directly from the scripture, because I thought it was funny and ridiculous. However, in the editing of the movie, I began to feel more that it was a satire of love and relationships themselves, rather than just a satire of the biblical language. In this short sequence, two people come together and are torn apart, both times for inexplicable reasons. Like this movie, love is ridiculous and often lacks reason.
