Prof. M. J. Warsi joins the Nalanda Literature Festival 2025 as a renowned linguist, researcher, and President of the Linguistic Society of India. Former Chairperson of the Department of Linguistics at AMU, he has authored over a dozen books and made pioneering contributions, including the first grammar of Mithilanchal Urdu (2014). He is a recipient of prestigious national and international honours such as the James McLeod Faculty Award, Colin P. Masica Award, and M. B. Emeneau Scholar of Excellence Award, and has also received major research grants from leading U.S. universities including Chicago, Michigan, and UC Berkeley.
