Today’s Reflection on the Readings The main point of today's Gospel reading is "to be sensitive to the needs under our noses," according to the summary. We learn that it isn't focused on Lazarus's or the rich man's bad behaviour, nor is it concerned with their respective patterns of good living. However, he chose to ignore the people in need who were at his gate. It so teaches us that if we don't have compassion for those in need around us, our lives will be characterised by selfishness, heartlessness, and lack of purpose. Jesus challenges us all to be aware of our surroundings and to hear the straightforward instructions of the gospel, such as to love our neighbours. Furthermore, it enlightens us on the fact that everyone—rich or poor—must perish. "When we look at the wise, they pass away... and leave their wealth to others" (Psalm 49:10). No one can avoid dying; it is an inescapable part of life. Therefore, the gospel of today urges us to start making preparations for our future home via patience and generosity. Prayer Constantly alive and sustaining life Thank you, Lord, for being kind and loving to my family and me. Our needs are being met on schedule. Lord, I beg you to deepen my love for the hungry and my desire to do everything in my power to feed the hungry because in feeding them, I feed you, Lord. On this day, Lord, please aid my understanding, attendance, and adherence to your Word. In order for me to grow more like YOU, I humbly ask YOU to help me open my heart and allow me to view the impoverished with compassion. May almighty God bless us, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. I thank all my subscribers for your constant support of this channel.
