ECSM shares a service of progressive Christian worship on December 1st for a service of Progressive Christian Worship with Rev. Sophia Jackson preaching “Behold the Days Are Coming” based on Psalm 25 and Jeremiah 33. We welcome Advent and the week of Hope, looking for God’s power to show up in our lives to bring about the justice and righteousness of God. Together, we sang, “Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus” (82), “Ubi Caritas” (205), “O Lord Hear My Prayer” (Taizé), and “O Little Town of Bethlehem” (121). What a Morning” (African American Spiritual), “The Angel Gabriel” (a Basque Carol), including the tune for “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” for the doxology and the postlude of “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” (instrumental) for postlude. We sang special music from “The Inn” Advent series from Worship Design Studio: Including multiple songs by Amanda Udis-Kessler, including “Hope Waits for us at Advent,” and “Make of My Heart a Stable,” and “The Manger is Stranger.” All music used with permission with CCLI License # 2970194 LicenSing License # U17447, CCLI Streaming License # 4275634.
