This video will help you to learn and practice some new English Idioms:- IDIOMS Idioms are word combinations that have a different figurative meaning than the literal meanings of each word or phrase. They can be confusing for kids or people learning a language as they don't mean what they say. 1. Where there is a will there is a way Meaning: if you are determined enough, you can find a way to achieve what you want, even if it is very difficult. Eg. I know that she can do this if she makes up her mind because where their is a will there is a way. Eg. The man drove through eight countries on his car. He proved , where there is a will, there is a way. 2. Between the devil and the deep sea Meaning: between two equally difficult and unacceptable choices. Eg. Trying to please both his boss and his wife puts him between the devil and the deep sea. Eg. Since we don't have enough money to send both our children to college, we're between the devil and the deep sea about what to do. 3. Make hay while the sun shines Meaning: to make good use of an opportunity while it lasts. Eg. We've got a few days off work so lets make hay while the sun shines and do some landscaping around the back of the house. Eg. Raj works too much, but he reckons he's just making hay while the sun shines. He says he'll slow down once he's make his fortune. 4. Empty vessel makes the most noise Meaning: those with the least talent and knowledge usually speak the most 'n loudest. Eg. The trouble is that empty vessels seem to be making the most sound and getting the most words in print. Eg. The politician's assistant advised him not to be an empty vessel during the TV interview as it would reflect badly on him. 5. A friend in need is a friend indeed Meaning: a friend who helps you when you really need help is a true friend. Eg. He stayed with me throughout the time I was in the hospital and justified that a friend in need is a friend indeed! Eg. Raj helped his best friend Rahul in all ups and downs and this is the perfect example of saying a friend in need is a friend indeed. Watch other KK..
