I Need Help

People in the Bible Who Cried to Jesus for Help Throughout the Gospels, we see powerful examples of people crying out to Jesus for help. Whether they were in physical pain, emotional distress, or spiritual bondage, Jesus responded with compassion, healing, and deliverance. Let’s look at a few examples: ________________________________________ 1. The Blind Man (Bartimaeus) – Mark 10:46–52 "And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way." (Mark 10:46–52 KJV) πŸ‘‰ Breakdown: β€’ Bartimaeus was blind and sat by the roadside begging. β€’ When he heard that Jesus was near, he cried out, β€œJesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me!” β€’ Even though people told him to be quiet, he cried out even louder. β€’ Jesus stopped, called him over, and healed him because of his faith. β€’ Bartimaeus immediately received his sight and followed Jesus. πŸ’‘ Lesson: Never let people silence your cry for help β€” Jesus will hear you when you call! ________________________________________ 2. The Woman with the Issue of Blood – Mark 5:25–34 "And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague." (Mark 5:25–34 KJV) πŸ‘‰ Breakdown: β€’ The woman had suffered for 12 years with a bleeding condition. β€’ After spending all her money on doctors with no healing, she turned to Jesus in desperation. β€’ She believed that if she could just touch His garment, she would be healed. β€’ When she touched Him, she was instantly healed. β€’ Jesus acknowledged her faith and told her to go in peace. πŸ’‘ Lesson: Even when you've exhausted all other options, Jesus is the ultimate healer β€” reach out in faith! ________________________________________ 3. The Syrophoenician Woman – Mark 7:24–30 "For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs. And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. And when she was come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid upon the bed." (Mark 7:25–30 KJV) πŸ‘‰ Breakdown: β€’ This woman was a Gentile, yet she came to Jesus on behalf of her demon-possessed daughter. β€’ Jesus initially tested her faith by saying the children’s bread (healing) was for the Jews first. β€’ But her humility and persistent faith caused Jesus to grant her request. β€’ Her daughter was delivered because of her faith and boldness. πŸ’‘ Lesson: Persistence and faith in Jesus β€” even when you feel unworthy β€” will move Him to act! ________________________________________ 4. Peter Sinking in the Water – Matthew 14:22–33 "But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" (Matthew 14:30–31 KJV)
