And when the Leader of pastors will have appeared, you shall secure an unfading crown of glory. Responsorial Psalm: PS 23:1-3a, 4, 5, 6 R. (1) The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. The Lord rules over me: and I shall want nothing. He has set me in a place of pasture. He has brought me up, by the water of refreshment: He has converted my soul. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. For though I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they have comforted me. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. You have prepared a table before me against those who afflict me. You have anointed my head with oil; and my cup which refreshes me, how goodly is it! R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. And your mercy will follow me all the days of my life. And that I may dwell in the house of the Lord unto length of days. R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want. Verse Before the Gospel: Mt 16:18 You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church; the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. Gospel: Matthew 16:13-19 Then Jesus went into parts of Caesarea Philippi. And he questioned his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that the Son of man is?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, and others say Elijah, still others say Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter responded by saying, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And in response, Jesus said to him: “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father, who is in heaven. And I say to you, that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound, even in heaven. And whatever you shall release on earth shall be released, even in heaven.” === Reflection: https://mycatholic.life/books/catholi... Copyright © 2020 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved.
