Do you remember the first song that made you want to pick up the guitar? For me, it was “All Along The Watchtower”… My dad loved Jimi Hendrix. He used to tell us kids stories about how him and his best friend would drive around in their car and blast Jimi Hendrix. My dad and his friend used to say to each other, “We’ll always listen to Hendrix.” In fact, this phrase became a joke with my siblings and I. We used to kid about it to each other and say, “Yeah, we’ll always listen to Hendrix.” 😂 But Hendrix for me goes back to even before my teenage years. Before I ever even picked up a guitar. You see, my dad used to play Electric Ladyland on repeat on vinyl when I was a child. My dad didn't play guitar. But he loved music. And no one in my family was musical... I had to learn on my own. But as a kid, when I would hear Hendrix I would get SUPER excited. So much so that I would run back and forth in our living room… But then my dad would always tell me to STOP running because I made the record player skip…😂 Later when I decided I wanted to pick up the guitar suddenly I heard “All Along The Watchtower” in a whole new way. The opening solo just got to me… I remember thinking, “That’s what I want to do!” So today I want to share with you how to play it note-for-note… 👉Check out the FULL lesson here: https://www.jonmaclennan.com/blog/all...
