Today's Gospel Reading & Gospel Reflection - Wednesday, October 25, 2023 ( Mass Readings) - Catholic Gospel Reading and Mass Reflection Catholic Daily Mass Readings for October 25, 2023 Wednesday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time 1st Reading Romans 6:12-18 Responsorial Psalm Psalms 124:1B-3, 4-6, 7-8 The Acclamation Matthew 24:42A, 44 Gospel Luke 12:39-48 Today’s Reflection on the Readings My dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, Jesus gently whispers in our ears today to "take heed, watch and pray" (Lk 21:34–36) and watch for His return rather than putting our faith in what we see, joining the general lack of faith, or letting the world carry us away. In my opinion, given how exact, serious, and sincere this kind of warning is, it is essential that we keep it in our minds at all times. My dear friends, The Gospel Reading for today serves as a gentle reminder to keep our minds and hearts open to the idea that God is aware of both our joys and our challenges. He is always present, witnesses all of our emotions, and, unknown to us, He is there to ensure that we will overcome all obstacles. My dearly beloved friends, Selling all else for Jesus is worthwhile because He provides a priceless treasure, boundless joy, and unwavering security. Jesus foretells that material wealth and belongings are transient and can be taken away by thieves or even death. This passage appears to be a warning to people who have harassed people and abused their power. My dear family of Mother Mary’s Protection, From all of us who have received so much... We come across individuals who dedicate enormous amounts of energy to helping others; when questioned, they respond, "I wanted to give something back for all I've been given." Indeed, there is much to be said for sharing liberally. Therefore, prayer encourages us to have an open mind, which enables us to participate in all that Jesus has given us. Have faith and rely on God. Prayer Dear Lord, help me not get distracted by the world. Help me to keep watch until You come. Amen.
