How To Prep/Cook Dry Beans in the Instant Pot Pressure Cooker

Replace canned beans with dry beans by prepping them in the Instant Pot or your go-to pressure cooker! With a little bit of prep time, you’ll save money and use healthier, sodium-free beans for your favorite recipes. For 900-gram (~32 oz) pack of dry beans: 1. Rinse and drain the beans to clean them. 2. Let soak for at least 3 hours or overnight in a bowl with water, with the water covering the beans completely. 3. Top up with water and let soak for 1 more hour. 4. Pressure cook on high for 10 minutes, then release the pressure. 5. Let the beans cool completely. Tip: Transfer them to a wide dish or tray to let them cool quicker and prevent them from overcooking in their own heat. 6. Portion out in freezer-friendly containers or ziploc bags. I had 6 portions – that’s about 6 cans of beans! 7. When you’re ready to cook, defrost and use them instead of canned beans for your favorite recipes.
