Dec 18, 2022 Sunday Morning Service with Concert Violinists: Christof Richter and Daniela Pierson

SPECIAL MUSIC THIS MORNING BY FIREFLY BAROQUE Concert Violinists ----- Christof and Daniela Message by Senior Pastor Tom Mooty "WE PRAYED FOR WHAT WE THOUGHT WE WANTED; BUT GOD ANSWERED WITH WHAT HE KNEW WE NEEDED!" In our current series of messages, we have looked at Mary and Elizabeth, Jacob and Joseph, and Esther and Daniel as Biblical persons who, if they were alive in our day, would probably have prayed earnestly for what they thought they wanted; but The LORD answered their prayers with what He Knew He wanted ad they needed. Of course, you will recognize that I am using illustrative language when I speak of their Wants and Needs; but I hope you have been getting the points. All of these people have had a lot of things “going for them” in their lives; but God had something more – something far, far better in sight for them; and, in most cases, our very Salvation and Belief System has been on the line. Elizabeth is noted for her faithful dialog with God; Mary was “highly favored” because of her attitude; on his death bed, Jacob is recorded as praising The Lord for his eleventh son, Joseph; in Egypt, Joseph made it very clear to his brothers that what they meant for bad, God meant for good; Esther was told that she very well could have been born “for such a time as that”; and Daniel was blessed by God in the midst of an evil, hostile government. Now, I want us to concentrate on two additional people in Scripture who “had it all going on” and gave it all up so that you and I could be saved; and those of you in either of our onsite or online audiences today who are saved – you are saved indirectly more than likely because of the influence and calling of one of these two men: either the Apostle in Charge, Peter; or the Special Apostle, Paul. May it always be that way; we are here to praise The Lord and to glorify His Holy Name in this present world – especially when things don’t go exactly as we thought they SHOULD!
