Growing up, my mom would give each of us children a new Christmas ornament every year. It was always something special to mark that particular year, whether it was our favorite hobby or sport, a family trip or noteworthy memory. As I look to my collection now, I am reminded of the precious years of my childhood. It has become one of my favorite traditions and marks many memorable events in my life. My mom has taught me how to live in the moment, cherish the past, and appreciate the old. This song is not just a Christmas story, but in many ways, it is a glimpse into my years growing up.
