#TheBeatitudes #The144000Sealed #Holiness #Saints #BeASaint TOPIC: IF YOU BECOME A SAINT, WHAT WOULD BE YOUR DISTINCTIVE MARK? First Reading: Deuteronomy 6:2-6 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 18:2-3, 3-4, 47, 51 Second Reading: Hebrews 7:23-28 Alleluia: John 14:23 Gospel: Mark 12:28B-34 Today’s gospel reading is about the Eight Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount. We may call it a charter for holiness. It is appropriate for the feast of All Saints Day we celebrate today. The first reading refers to a huge number of saints in heaven, many who are unknown, but have opened themselves fully to God’s presence and allowed Him to live in them. We usually think of the ten commandments and the church requirements, such as, going to Mass, the disciplines of praying, fasting and almsgiving as requisites for holiness. They are. But to fulfill them, the Beatitudes are the way. This is the 573rd installment of our CFC quarantine contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings. [NOTE: All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
