Questions: Read John 10:1-12 1. If you knew there was a thief coming to your house, would that change how you lived? 2. Knowing there is a thief coming to steal, kill and destroy, what are ways you could protect your spiritual house? 3. In Sunday’s message Pastor Isaac used Ezekiel 34 to set the context for the condition of the sheep before Jesus came and declared “I am the Good Shepherd.” Ezekiel described the sheep as being abandon and scattered. -What is the difference between being abandoned and being lost? -Have you ever felt abandoned and how can that effect your perspective in life? 4. Read (Ezekiel 34:15-16 God’s promise 500 years before Jesus came on the scene) 5. When Jesus spoke in John 10:11 that I am the Good Shepherd,” the first thing we need to recognize is His voice? Jesus Said “My sheep hear my voice” -What are different way God speaks to us? -How can we recognize the voice of God, verse the voice of the thief or the hired hand? 6. The second thing the Good Shepherd does for us is Shear our old wool off because sheep don’t shed on their own. -What are the advantages of allowing our GOOD SHEPHERD to shave off our old wool? (Reference scriptures Colossians 3:7-14 (Message Verse), Zechariah 3:3-4) -Remember the picture of the Sheep Pastor Isaac used to illustrate a sheep that was found in the wild and hadn’t been sheared in over 6 years. Have you ever felt like that spiritually? 7.The third things the Good Shepherd does for us is provide shelter. -In what ways does the Good Shepherd shelter us? -When Jesus say’s “The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” what does that mean for us today? And why should that change how we live? (Close by sharing a story of a time in your life you felt “SHELTERED BY THE SHEPHERD”)
