ABOUT THE GAME BIOSHOCK: The story of BioShock takes place in 1960, in which the player controls Jack, after his plane crashes into the ocean, next to a bathyspheric terminal that leads to the underwater city of Rapture. Built by tycoon Andrew Ryan, the city was initially intended to be an isolated utopia, but the discovery of ADAM, a plasmid that gives superhuman powers, sent the city into turbulent decline. Jack tries to find a way to escape, battling massive amounts of ADAM-obsessed enemies such as the deadly Big Daddies, while also meeting some sane humans and eventually learning more about Rapture's past. The player, as Jack, manages to defeat enemies with the use of various weapons, using plasmids that give him unique powers or making the city's own defenses turn against its inhabitants.
