GOSPEL OF THE DAY

GOSPEL OF THE DAY

29th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Cycle C. Gospel according to Saint Luke 18:1-8 “Jesus showed his disciples by an example that they should always pray and never lose heart. In a certain city there was a judge who had no respect for God and no regard for people. In that same city there was also a widow who came to him and said, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ For a long time the judge ignored her, but finally he thought, ‘It is true that I have no respect for God and no regard for people, but this widow is bothering me so much that I will grant her justice; otherwise, she will end up breaking my head.’ The Lord said to them, ‘Have you considered the words of this wicked judge? Will not God grant justice to his chosen ones if they cry out to him day and night while he lets them wait? Truly, I say to you, he will grant them justice, and speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?’” Word of the Lord.
