Chagas disease is a tropical parasitic disease caused by the protist Trypanosoma cruzi. During the blood meal of the insect Triatomine, trypomastigotes from the blood of the infected individual gain entry into the insect gut. These trypomastigotes differentiate to form epimastigotes which transform back into the trypomastigotes inside the insect hindgut. ---------------------------------------- Infectious Medicine Lectures Collection - https://www.sqadia.com/categories/med... ---------------------------------------- Trypomastigotes invade the human host via insect bite. This produces Romana sign and chagoma. Here trypomastigotes differentiate into amastigotes which undergo replication. Amastigotes get converted into trypomastigotes which enter the blood after cell lysis and cause chronic Chagas disease. ---------------------------------------- 5500+ Medical Videos Try for FREE! - https://www.sqadia.com/categories/free ----------------------------------------
