Full Worship Service (December 3, 2023)
Watch, worship, and be encouraged by our full service from December 3, 2023! Sermon: Rahab is introduced in Joshua 2:1 as a prostitute. Rahab lived in Jericho, a godless city filled with every kind of evil. In the book of Joshua, God commanded his people to conquer Jericho, destroy the evil, and take the land for His name sake. Joshua, the godly leader of God’s people at the time, wisely sent spies into Jericho to assess the city. Rahab, risking her own life and the life of her family, housed the spies sent by Joshua. She protected and directed the spies because she had heard of the goodness and might of the LORD and trusted what had been reported to her about Him. As a result of her courageous faith, she and her family were spared when Jericho was destroyed and were welcomed into the community of Israel. In the New Testament, Hebrews 11:31 states, “By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.” Rahab stands among those listed who “God is not ashamed to be called their God” (Hebrews 11:16).
