From Apple Original Films and the creative minds behind Top Gun: Maverick comes *F1*, a high-octane action thriller starring Brad Pitt and directed by Joseph Kosinski. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, seven-time FORMULA 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, and Chad Oman, the film promises an adrenaline-fueled cinematic experience. Once hailed as FORMULA 1’s next big star, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was on the fast track to greatness in the 1990s—until a devastating crash changed everything. Now, thirty years later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire when his former teammate, Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), now the owner of a struggling FORMULA 1 team, offers him a chance at redemption. With the team on the brink of collapse, Ruben persuades Sonny to make a comeback, racing alongside the team’s rising star, Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a determined rookie with his own ambitions. As the competition intensifies and engines roar, Sonny must confront his past while learning that in FORMULA 1, your biggest rival might just be the one sharing your garage. Featuring an ensemble cast including Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Javier Bardem, F1 was filmed during real Grand Prix weekends, bringing the intensity of the sport to the big screen. Kosinski directs from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, with executive producer Daniel Lupi. Behind the scenes, Kosinski’s creative team includes cinematographer Claudio Miranda, production designers Mark Tildesley and Ben Munro, editor Stephen Mirrione, costume designer Julian Day, casting director Lucy Bevan, and legendary composer Hans Zimmer. Apple Original Films presents a Monolith Pictures / Jerry Bruckheimer / Plan B Entertainment / Dawn Apollo Films production, directed by Joseph Kosinski. F1 will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, hitting theaters and IMAX in the U.S. on June 27, 2025, with an international release starting June 25, 2025.
