Choral Evensong for the Third Sunday of Advent

The choir of Trinity Episcopal Church in Swarthmore, directed by James Smith, sings a service of Choral Evensong on Sunday, December 12 at 7:30 PM. Evensong is the Anglican service of readings, psalms, and prayer for daily use in the evening. It has given rise to wonderful musical compositions dating from the Renaissance until our present day. This year's service at Trinity features Orlando Gibbons’ Short Service as well as Gregorian chant and works of the Spaniard Tomás Luís de Victoria.
