Genesis 9 - The Covenant of the Rainbow

Genesis 9 - The Covenant of the Rainbow After the flood, God blesses Noah and his sons, giving humanity a new beginning. He commands them to be fruitful and multiply, filling the earth once more. God establishes a covenant with Noah, his descendants, and every living creature — promising never again to destroy the earth by flood. As a sign of this everlasting promise, He sets a rainbow in the sky, a reminder of His mercy, faithfulness, and grace toward all creation. Later, Noah plants a vineyard and becomes drunk. His son Ham dishonors him, while Shem and Japheth act respectfully, covering their father. Their actions reveal that even after renewal, sin and brokenness still remain in the human heart. Takeaway Lesson: God’s promises never fade. The rainbow reminds us that His mercy outshines judgment. Even when humanity fails, God’s faithfulness endures. Just as He spared Noah through the flood, He offers us redemption and new life through Jesus — the ultimate covenant of grace. To read more: https://amzn.to/3IUv8AE
