Self-Rising flour, butter and milk is all it takes to make wonderful, flaky, homemade biscuits. No buttermilk?? Simply add a teaspoon of lemon juice, lime juice or vinegar to your measuring cup and add up to 1 cup of milk. Ingredients: 2 cups of self rising flour ½ cup of butter, oil or shortening 2/3 - 34 cup of milk or butter milk Extra milk on hand Extra flour for rolling out Preheat oven 450°f Bake 15-18 minutes Cut butter into self rising flour, Stir in 2/3 cup of milk, add additional milk if dough seems too dry Turn out onto floured surface Knead 10-12 times (Fold and Push Down) Roll or Pat out ½ inch thick Cut with biscuit cutter Place in buttered pan Knead leftover dough together and cut out another biscuit Take remaining dough and pat into another biscuit Bake in preheated oven for 15-18 minutes.
