He sent messengers ahead of him. As they set out, they entered a Samaritan village to make preparations. But they did not receive him, because his appearance was that of one on his way to Jerusalem. When his disciples James and John saw this, they said to him, "Lord, do you want us to summon fire from heaven to consume them?" He turned and rebuked them. And they went on to another village.
