Reacting to LINKIN PARK - "Crawling"
Linkin Park is an American rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The band’s founding members were Mike Shinoda (vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards, sampling), Brad Delson (lead guitar), and Rob Bourdon (drums). They later recruited Joe Hahn (turntables, samples), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bass), and Chester Bennington (lead vocals). The group is known for its hybrid approach, combining elements of alternative rock, nu-metal, rap, and electronic music. Their debut album, Hybrid Theory (2000), became an international success, driven by hits like "Crawling" and "In the End". The album's blend of hip-hop, rock, and electronica resonated with a broad audience, and it was certified Diamond by the RIAA. Linkin Park’s second album, Meteora (2003), solidified their position in the music industry with songs like "Numb", "Somewhere I Belong", and "Breaking the Habit". The band was praised for its emotional depth, complex production, and Bennington’s raw vocal power. Throughout their career, Linkin Park consistently evolved their sound. With albums like Minutes to Midnight (2007), A Thousand Suns (2010), Living Things (2012), and The Hunting Party (2014), the band experimented with different genres, including electronic music and more traditional rock sounds. Their final studio album with Chester Bennington, One More Light (2017), marked a significant shift toward pop and electronic influences. Tragically, Chester Bennington died by suicide on July 20, 2017, which marked a profound loss for the band and the music community. His death deeply impacted the remaining members, and the band went on an indefinite hiatus. Legacy and Influence: Linkin Park remains one of the best-selling bands of the 21st century, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide. They are known for their genre-bending style, integrating aggressive rock riffs, electronic beats, and introspective lyrics. The band has received numerous awards, including two Grammy Awards, and they continue to have a lasting influence on both rock and electronic music.
