Rare Plant Unboxing // Variegated Monstera Adansonii Aurea and Archipelago // Wishlist Plants🌿

Hello everyone! I have new rare houseplants and they are two of my wishlist plants! I can’t wait to unbox them with you!🥰💚🌿 One of my Filipino friends here in the UK, who is a Biomedical Scientist like me in profession and a fellow rare plant enthusiast have send me 2 of his beautiful cuttings and I can’t wait to unbox it with you, guys!😍 He have sent me two of his Variegated Monstera Adansonii which are the Variegated monstera adansonii aurea and variegated monstera adansonii archipelago which are two of my wishlist plants for the year 2021 and I’m so grateful that he have shared his cuttings with me. Monstera comes from Central America and belongs to the Araceae family. This plant is also known under the Dutch name, hole plant. The plant thrives in very humid conditions: the more humid the environment, the larger the leaf. But this plant can also tolerate somewhat drier air. It is also known as monstera friedrichsthalii variegata, swiss cheese plant, mexican plant, hurricane plant. Monstera adansonii variegata Archipelago is a relatively rare cultivar with variegated leaves. Monstera adansonii Variegata Archipelago variegation is a result of spontaneous but naturally occurring genetic mutation. Variegation of Monstera adansonii Archipelago is stable (meaning it’s unlikely that the plant will revert to green form, however, not impossible). The most common form of Monstera Archipelago is adansonii Variegated ‘Half Moon’, where one half of the leaf is green, and the other half is white. The Monstera Variegated Aurea is a very rare plant with special discolorations in the leaves. This plant is very similar in shape to the Monstera Adansonii, but has softer leaves due to lighter leaf patterns and is a lot more sensitive and less easy to care for.
