Easy Recipe for Cherry Puff Pastry Pie Ingredients: 300-350 grams of puff pastry (non-yeast) 550 grams of cherries (fresh or frozen) 1-2 tablespoons of cornstarch 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar Instructions: Preheat the oven to the temperature indicated on the puff pastry packaging (mine was 180 degrees Celsius or 350 degrees Fahrenheit). Prepare a pie dish and grease it with butter or oil. Divide the puff pastry into two portions, with one portion being large enough to fit the size of the pie dish. Carefully transfer the larger portion of the puff pastry into the pie dish, pressing it against the bottom and sides. Ensure that the pastry completely covers the bottom and sides of the dish. Prepare the cherries by removing the pits, if any. If using frozen cherries, allow them to partially thaw. Sprinkle the cherries with cornstarch and mix well to evenly coat the fruit. The cornstarch will help absorb excess moisture from the cherries and prevent the pastry from becoming too soggy. Place the cherries on top of the puff pastry in the pie dish. Take the remaining portion of the puff pastry and cut it into strips. Create a lattice pattern on top of the pie by crisscrossing the strips over the cherries. Place the pie dish in the preheated oven and bake until the pastry turns golden brown and develops a crisp texture. This usually takes about 25-30 minutes. Once baked, allow the pie to cool to room temperature. Dust the finished pie with powdered sugar before serving. Bon appétit and have a wonderful time! ❤️
