Palm Sunday is a Christian feast that falls on the Sunday before Easter. In 2025, it was celebrated on April 13 — which is today! 🌿 It commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, an event mentioned in all four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). As He entered the city, people laid down palm branches and cloaks in front of Him, shouting “Hosanna!”—a joyful shout of praise or plea for salvation. Key Symbols: 🌿 Palm branches: Represent victory, triumph, peace, and eternal life. 🐴 Donkey: Jesus rode a donkey to symbolize humility and peace. ✝️ Often marks the beginning of Holy Week, which leads up to Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Traditions: Churches distribute palm leaves or branches to the congregation. Some people fold the palms into crosses and keep them as keepsakes. The leftover palms are sometimes burned and used as ashes for Ash Wednesday the following year.
