Apostle Grace Lubega 1 Kings 19: 19-20 (KJV); So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him. And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee? — God is always instructing His children in the ways of life. However, because many people do not know how to read spiritual instructions, they miss what He is telling them. What you must appreciate about spiritual instructions is that sometimes, they are not very obvious. Thus, it requires wisdom for you to read between the lines of what may have been said or read the instruction in a simple act. For example, when Elijah in our theme scripture cast his mantle on Elisha, there was an unspoken instruction for Elisha to follow him. Elijah did not even waste a moment explaining himself, he cast his mantle and just moved on without a backward glance. If Elisha was not a spiritual man, he may have puzzled over why some random stranger was hitting him with a piece of cloth. Worse, he may even have been offended. But he was wise enough to know that this was no insignificant act. This was an instruction. So child of God, sometimes, God will not explain Himself or enlighten you with all the details. You must be spiritually alert to know when to move, to stop, to run or to speak even at the slightest nudge of His Spirit. Hallelujah! FURTHER STUDY: Isaiah 30:21, Psalm 32:8 GOLDEN NUGGET: Sometimes, God will not explain Himself or enlighten you with all the details. You must be spiritually alert to know when to move, to stop, to run or to speak even at the slightest nudge of His Spirit. PRAYER: Loving Father, I thank You for this truth. Thank You for sharpening my spirit in the various dimensions in which I should hear You and heed Your instructions. I can never miss Your voice, urging or the promptings of Your spirit because I am spiritually awake. I grow in this grace and wisdom every day of my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
