Advent: Week 3 - Joy

Advent: Week 3 - Joy

How do we find joy in the midst of darkness? This third week of Advent, we reflect on the joy that Mary experienced as she prepared to bear Jesus. Even in a time of oppression and uncertainty, her joy was rooted in God’s promises, reminding us that true joy doesn’t depend on circumstances but flows from His faithfulness. Luke 1:46-55 (The Magnificat) reveals Mary’s song of joy—a celebration of God’s mercy and His redemptive work. Isaiah 35:1-10 paints a picture of joy as restoration and hope transform the barren wilderness. And in Luke 2:8-14, the shepherds hear the good news of great joy, prompting them to seek Jesus immediately. - - - - This Advent, we’re reminded that joy is not passive—it moves us to action, to worship, and to trust in the promises of God. Join us as we reflect on this abiding joy that sustains us, even in challenging times. Discover more about our Advent series and give a year-end gift at 111global.org/advent.
