The promise announced by the prophets is now realized: the Savior has been born. In Bethlehem, the shepherds encounter not a distant God, but Emmanuel—God with us—lying humbly in a manger. Saint Paul reminds us that this salvation is pure grace, not earned by our deeds but freely given through God’s mercy and love. As we celebrate the Nativity, we are invited to imitate the shepherds: to seek Christ with eagerness, to glorify God with joy, and to carry the good news into our daily lives. Christmas calls us not only to rejoice, but to live as renewed people, transformed by the grace that has appeared for all. Copyright © 2023 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved.
