Sunday Worship - August 17, 2025

10th Sunday after Pentecost - Revelation 13:1-18 - Faithfulness in the Face of Fear What do The Cat in the Hat and Revelation 13 have in common? Both remind us that trouble often sneaks in looking harmless, even fun. The Cat shows up promising games on a rainy day, but chaos quickly follows. In Revelation, the beasts appear terrifying—yet people still follow them, deceived by promises of power and security. Today we explore how John’s vision unmasks the powers of evil still at work in our world, often disguised as systems and voices that seem appealing at first. Like the fish in Seuss’s story, John warns us not to fall for the lies, but to stay steadfast in the Lamb who has already conquered—not by violence or domination, but by love. Because we belong to God, the beasts hold no power over us. We are free to live in the hope and values of God’s kingdom, here and now. We worship live and in-person each Sunday at 9:30 AM. If you are local, we invite you to join us!
