Worship v 2024 12 22

For this fourth week of Advent (22 December 2024) our focus at Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church in Baltimore, Maryland is hope. This week we are fortunate to receive a message entitled "Hope is Worth the Risk" from Geoffrey Hart based upon Matthew 1: 18-25. Christmas is a magical time when we are told to see the world through the eyes of a child. We are told to anticipate our presents under the tree and our loving family gathered together. Yet, many of us struggle to find those simple pleasures and pure happiness. We find ourselves in the midst of Christmas anticipation filled with dread. As we reflect on this sacred narrative, let us embrace our struggles. Allow us to feel as Mary and Joseph did as they walked to Bethlehem.
