Come, Ye Thankful People
Good Monday morning everybody. We begin the devotional series “A Call to Thanksgiving” by Alistair Begg with “Come, Ye Thankful People." In this devotion we dig into the reality that it can be hard to be grateful at times in our lives. The answer for how we can show constant gratitude lies in God’s sanctifying work in us. The word “sanctify” means “to set apart for God.” When the Lord Jesus Christ comes to rule and reign in our lives, the Holy Spirit enters us. We may not feel thankful in every moment. That’s okay, because that’s not the point. God enables us to be grateful regardless. He provides the strength for us through His Indwelling Holy Spirit. MEDITATIONS: [1] How is God calling me to think differently? [2] How is God reordering my heart’s affections—what I love? [3] What is God calling me to do as I go about my day today? SCRIPTURES: 1 Thessalonians 5:18-24 and Psalm 149. God Bless ... Pastor Dean
