Alexi Laiho was the main guitarist, composer, leader, singer of the band Children of Bodom. When I was a young learning guitarist, his melodic kind of playing influenced me the most. His riffs were for me very strong, going from a classical spirit to really powerful metal song, with surprising effects, melodies and harmonies. He was very dedicated to be one of the best guitarist of the world. My long time inspiration from him came from a Metal version of the 3rd movement from Vivladi 'Summer' concerto. Maybe you have noticed, I have painted my nails in black for this video, as he did. Every day, people die, we should always present condolences to their family and friends, regardless of their famousness ; I can't do it every time, but this time is an exception. It was a long time due video to this great band. The soli are quite challenging but they are a good training to sweep picking arpeggios on electric guitar. Also, fast notes on open string with regular note changing at each beginning measure is funny to play !
