In the first reading from the Book of Isaiah, we hear about the Servant of the Lord, chosen and beloved, who will bring justice to the nations with gentleness and perseverance. This prophecy finds its fulfilment in Jesus, whose #baptism marks the beginning of His public ministry. He is the light to the nations, sent to open the eyes of the blind, free captives, and bring hope to those in darkness. Today's Psalm reflects God's glory and power. The voice of the Lord is described as majestic, powerful, and full of splendour. At Jesus' baptism, the voice of God was heard from heaven: "You are my Son, the Beloved; with you, I am well pleased." This affirmation reveals the divine identity of Jesus and assures us of God's presence in His mission. Similarly, at our baptism, we are marked as beloved children of God.
