According to the Year 7 Roadmap, published by Ubisoft on February 20th of 2022, the Jönköping Major was originally to be held in the Asia region. However on October 5th Ubisoft announced that due to certain circumstances they "were unable to bring back one of our international events to the Asia-Pacific region this season" and the Major will be instead hosted in Jönköping, Sweden Sweden during the Dreamhack Winter event .
