First I want to clear one thing, that Bougainvillea flowers are actually small delicate, the large colorful Paper like petals, are not actually flowers, but bracts, which is a specialised leaf, that has the function of attracting pollinators. The small white flower is surrounded by Colorful bracts. And we all, expect this countless bracts, actually because not for the flower, we grow this ornamental plant for this vibrant bract colors. Bougainvillea are native to Brazil, so they love the heat dry conditions. So, where ever you grow this plant, you have to give its natural habitat like conditions. Bougainvillea are drought tolerant, so they don't like regular watering. So, it is quite simple that they stay happy with little or less watering, after all, it is its natural taste, your overwatering or daily watering gives you lots of leaves & no flowers.
