Dark energy explained simply.
Sean Carroll is an American theoretical physicist and science communicator specializing in cosmology, particle physics, and the philosophy of science. He is a research professor at Johns Hopkins University and formerly at Caltech. He is known for his books and podcasts that make complex topics such as time, the universe, and the fundamental laws of nature accessible. One of his most cherished concepts is dark energy, the mysterious force that makes up about 70% of the universe and is driving the cosmic expansion to accelerate. We don't know what it actually is: it could be a new form of vacuum energy or a sign that our understanding of gravity is incomplete.
