Today's Catholic Mass Readings and Reflections October 9, 2022 | Mass Gospel and Reflection| Luke Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time 1st Reading: 2 Kings 5:14-17 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 98:1, 2-3, 3-4 2nd Reading: 2 Timothy 2:8-13 The Acclamation: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Gospel: Luke 17:11-19 Personal Reflection Today’s Reflection on the Readings Prayer Personal Reflection Do I read Bible? Am I a regular churchgoer? Is Jesus' command one I follow? Do I regard receiving Holy Communion and the Sacrament of Penance with seriousness? Do I think that they all contribute to my healing? Saved? and restore my health? Do I think that each of these will nourish my soul? Today’s Reflection on the Readings In the gospel reading for today, Jesus encourages us to come and be healed of all our spiritual and physical ills. Each of us has specific illnesses that occasionally cause us to withdraw from Jesus, society, and the suffering we experience as a result of our own failings. God has given us the wonderful opportunity to experience life and learn about our virtues and shortcomings in the context of the gospel. Let's go to Jesus in "Faith," without being ashamed, and beg Him to touch and cure us. Let us all hear the words of Jesus, "Rise and go; your faith has made you well''. In order to live in hope and faith in Jesus, our great Healer, let's ask the Holy Spirit to pour out His power so that we can recognise the miracles He has performed and is constantly performing in our lives. Prayer I'm sorry, Heavenly Father, for not saying "thank you" more often for all of the benefits you've given me. You have blessed me and have waited for me to return to you in gratitude, but I have already left and gone my own way. I've taken you for granted. I apologise. Put gratitude in my heart and soul. Let me sing it, let me live it, let me express it. so that to people around me, I could serve as a clear example of the gifts I have received.
